One-Hit Heroes is Almost Finished Design!
Great news! We've been making excellent progress on One-Hit Heroes design, and should be right on track to reach our promised fulfillment date of March 2025.
Most of our time these last few weeks has been stress-testing the Epilogue and post-Epilogue bosses at each difficulty level. We want to ensure that you can find the perfect challenge level for your playgroup and that a variety of strategies, deck archetypes and Hero combinations are valid even at the highest difficulty level.
Because most design is done, we've been able to start final copy editing and graphic design passes to polish every component of the game. This includes 200+ player and boss cards! Here's a comparison between 2023 and today:
Our previous card frame had a lot more noise. We want to give art its breathing room! We've also limited our design of unpredictable effects, since your deck and the boss attack rolls are already unpredictable as it is.
Attention All 5-Minute Dungeon Fans!
For those who were asking about purchasing the Baby Barbarian Pack separately from the Ultimate Co-op Bundle, we have some great news! It's now available for sale on Amazon for shipping to the US. Here's a link.
The Baby Barbarian pack contains 15 new Dungeon Cards for 5-Minute Dungeon, along with an adorable 3-inch tall Baby Barbarian figurine.
Pledge Manager Closing Soon
We plan to close the BackerKit surveys on Friday, August 30. This means if you have any final additions or changes to make to your pledge, you only have two weeks left to do so. After we close surveys, you'll still be able to update your address but you will not be able to update your items & add-ons.
On August 30, we’ll also be charging your credit card for any funds still owing. This includes:
Shipping charges and taxes (if applicable)
The costs of any add-on games or decks (if you chose to add any after the Kickstarter)
The cost of your pledge, if Kickstarter was unable to charge your card at the end of the campaign
If you haven't started your survey yet, make sure to do it now! It only takes a minute. If you never received a survey link, or can’t remember if you’ve completed your survey, just go to https://onehitheroes.backerkit.com/ and enter your e-mail address to have BackerKit send you a new survey link.
And as always, if you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected].
Talk to you soon!
Cheers,
The Wiggles 3D Team
DO66-0 Update and BackerKit Survey Reminder

Hope you’re doing well! We’ve been hard at work finishing up One-Hit Heroes design and art, and are almost finished tweaking and refining game balance. We'd also like to show off some new DO66-0 art and give you an updated tour of your Companion Hero!
How DO66-0 Works
If you're using DO66-0 for Solo Mode or as a Beginner Hero, you'll set it up just like you would a normal Hero. When you play as DO66-0, you'll still deal damage and block hits, and you're still at risk of getting hit during Boss Turns.
However, instead of playing cards on your turn, you'll simply use your W.O.O.F. or B.A.R.K. Item Card to roll the Hero Die and determine your damage dealt. No cards to draw, discard, play or count! This makes DO66-0 a lot easier to manage in Solo Mode, and for Beginner players who want to join the fight without worrying about hand management.
DO66-0 players skip the SCOUT and REST parts of their turn, and when they're done, they get to pass their turn directly to the next Hero. This means there's no Boss Turn between you and the next Hero.
Pick STOIC or SCRAPPY
Your Companion Hero pack will contain two doggos! The STOIC option focuses on spending Energy to block, while going SCRAPPY lets you spend energy to deal guaranteed damage. This makes SCRAPPY a lot riskier, but very helpful in early fights when you need to deal that extra bit of firepower!
At the start of each battle, you can decide if you'd like to face the boss as SCRAPPY or STOIC. Your choice determines which Item Cards you put into play.
Gain New Upgrades
Since DO66-0 can’t hold cards in his paws, during draft phases he’ll pick out an Upgrade Card from the toy bin instead. Upgrade Cards are a special card type that DO66-0 gives to Heroes to keep in play for the rest of the Episode. Each Upgrade Card has two configuration modes you can choose from, and at the start of each Battle you can swap modes.

Backerkit Surveys

– Thu, Jun 06, 2024 at 07:01:33 AM
Hello again, backers!
It's time for the next big step: sending out the BackerKit surveys!
These surveys are a vital part of the project because they let us know how many games we need to make and where we'll need to send them. So please complete your survey as soon as you can!
When to Expect the Survey
We'll be sending out the surveys by e-mail today and tomorrow. They'll come from [email protected] and will go to the e-mail linked to your Kickstarter account. If you don't receive your survey link email, check your spam folder!
We'll be leaving the surveys open until we're ready to place the order with the factory, which should be in August. However, the sooner you complete your survey, the easier it will be for us to accurately plan our production.
Special note to Apple users: If you backed using your AppleID, your email address on Kickstarter might be something like <username>@privaterelay.appleid.com. Unfortunately, BackerKit is not able to email to those addresses (they're restricted to the site they were originally used on, which in this case is Kickstarter). That means you won't get your survey... and that's bad, because you won't get your game if your survey is never completed. If your Kickstarter email is like this, please send us a note to [email protected] and provide us with an alternate e-mail address we can use to send you your survey.
Special note to Late Pledge backers: If you backed using the Late Pledge link after the campaign ended, you won't be receiving a survey, because you don't need to: you've already provided your address and payment information. So you don't have to worry about this process, but be sure to keep an eye on future updates for any news about the project that might apply to you.
What's in the Survey?
In the survey, you'll be able to...
Provide your address and phone number for shipping purposes.
If you're planning to move in the near future, don't worry: you'll be able to change your address right up until we ship.
We will be offering a local pickup option in our home town of London, Ontario, Canada, so if you're nearby and think you would be interested in meeting us and saving your shipping costs, just choose "Local Pickup" as your country when entering your address.
We haven't finalized any details about this event yet, but will send out an update about it later.
Add more copies of One-Hit Heroes, the Doggo Companion Pack, or The Epilogue.
Change your pledge level if you want to get a different tier than the one you pledged for on Kickstarter.
Enter your credit card information to pay for your shipping, any applicable taxes, and any additional add-ons or upgrades.
Please note that we will not be charging cards until we lock down the surveys in August.
If your pledge payment failed on Kickstarter, don't worry: you can still get your pledge by paying in BackerKit.
What About the Previous Backer / VIP Gift?
If you're a VIP or returning backer, we offered you the Doggo Companion Pack as a gift. This will appear as "FREE GIFT: The Doggo Companion Pack" in your list of pledge items.
If you added Doggo as a Kickstarter add-on but were supposed to get it for free, don't worry: you will receive a credit for the CA$ 15 value of the Doggo Companion Pack instead.
If you put down a $1 deposit before the campaign launch, you will receive a credit for that deposit as well.
If you are a VIP or returning backer and did not receive either the item or the credit, let us know right away by sending us a Kickstarter message or an e-mail to [email protected].
What's Next?
Our next step will be to lock down the surveys. This will finalize the items you've chosen so we can place our order with the factory, but you will still be able to update your address after that. We plan to do this in August, and we'll announce it with a Kickstarter update as well. In the meantime, if you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to us by Kickstarter message or by e-mail at [email protected].
Thanks again for all your support! The Wiggles 3D Team
MISSION COMPLETE!!! Onto the Next Adventure!

We Did It!
One-Hit Heroes officially gets to be a reality thanks to your support! It's only because of crowdfunding that we can get these dreams off the ground. We couldn't make these games without you, so thank you so much for being a part of this!
What's Next?
Kickstarter needs a little time to process your pledge payments and send the information to our pledge manager (BackerKit)... so we're going to take a little break and celebrate!
In about two weeks, we’ll send out the BackerKit surveys. These are an essential step to making sure we can send you your pledge items. As part of completing your survey, you'll:
Provide your address for shipping
Confirm that the items you'll be receiving are correct
Add on any additional items that you'd like, or upgrade your pledge level
Provide a credit card to pay for shipping & taxes
When we're ready to send out the surveys, we'll post another update with all the details.
NOTE: To improve your chances of getting the survey email, BackerKit suggests that you add "[email protected]" to your address book.
If you know someone who missed the Kickstarter but wants the game: Send them to the Late Pledge store, which is accessible from the "LATE PLEDGE" button on the Kickstarter page, or at https://onehitheroes.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
Adventure Awaits
This campaign may be over, but there’s always more ahead for us! If you’d like to be a part of the community, playtest One-Hit Heroes, co-ordinate online games, talk to the devs, or just hang out, check out our Discord server HERE!
It’s been an amazing month, and an awesome milestone in a long journey that all started with the funny thought: "What if there was a game called One-Hit Heroes, and you had just 1 HP?" All these years of iteration led to the past 30 days, where all you got to decide whether or not our heroes could finally embark on their adventures. We’re so glad your answer was a resounding "Yes!" And we can’t wait until you get to hold the physical game for yourself.
We’ll be in touch in a couple of weeks about the surveys, and after that we'll continue to provide updates as the games are manufactured and shipped out, so this certainly won’t be the last you hear from us. But until then, one last time: THANK YOU!!
Mission accomplished,
Connor, AC and the Wiggles 3D Team
THE FINAL WEEK! + Doggo Vote Results + Component Tour Pt 2!

FINAL WEEK!
Wow, we're already in the final week of the campaign! If you know friends or family who have been procrastinating on getting a copy of One-Hit Heroes, be sure to remind them before they miss out!
Doggo Gets a Shield!
Not only has it been cool watching our Stoic and Scrappy friends come alive throughout this past month, but it's also been great hearing your thoughts and reasoning behind each of the choices. I hope it's been as fun for you as it has been for us!
In our latest vote, SHIELD won out over GLARE! Thank you to all who voted.
FINAL STATS
Backstory: STOIC defected from a villain and joins you on missions instead.
Fighting Style: Uses BARK so it can deal damage without leaving your side.
Defensive Style: Uses PROTECTIVE SHIELD to spend energy to defend you from attacks.
And we haven't forgotten about Scrappy either! We'll make sure to share updated art as that comes in as well.
What's in the Box? Component Tour Part 2
Continuing on from last update, here's your behind-the-scenes peek at some more components! Today we're focusing on the more complex components that took us more time to perfect...
Light and Heavy Damage Tokens
We designed and custom-molded these little guys to be easy to differentiate while still looking similar enough that you can tell they're related.
Of all the ways to deal damage (sliders, counters, rotating dials, etc) we've found that damage tokens worked best thanks to the Aggro system. When damage/aggro is represented with tokens, playtesters seem to have a much smoother time turning each point of damage into that exact amount of Aggro. It also feels satisfying to be able to physically pick up or sweep away lots of damage/aggro at a time.
Player Mats
Like many other parts of this game, these player mats have gone through a lot of iterations! To keep our box dimensions as reasonable as possible, we opted for a design that places some piles (burn, discard and draw) to the sides of the mat while Item Cards and the Hero Card go onto the mat itself.
We started with flat mats, but partway through a game someone bumped the table. We pretty much vowed on the spot that we would not do flat mats.
The next iteration was double-layered punchboard, which worked much better. The major downside was with Aggro tokens: if we made the bowls/holes for aggro tokens too small, they'd get stuck and require a kind of off-angle poke to remove. And if we made the wells too large, they'd slide around and bunch up too easily.
The plastic tray took some work to design, but it functioned pretty much perfectly as soon as we tried it! This is mainly thanks to the Aggro bar slots having bowl shapes. Aggro tokens of both sizes could naturally fit inside without sliding around, and it was easy to push both the light and heavy tokens out with your finger.
Compared to damage tokens, Energy is gained/lost in smaller amounts and doesn't fulfill a mechanical duality like damage/aggro does. As a result, we opted for a little slider to represent energy. It feels nice and smooth to manipulate too!
The Box Tray
This is the part that'll go through the most changes between the prototype and final versions of the game. Our design goals for these trays mostly focused on ensuring you could easily set up a new game or save your progress between boss fights. This means separating out each Hero Deck, giving a bit of extra room to store fully-drafted decks, and making sure players had easy access to components like the Hero Die, Attack Die and Armory Slot. Due to popular demand, we're going to try and ensure these slots are card-sleeve-friendly as well!
See You Soon
This is it! In just a few days, the Kickstarter campaign for One-Hit Heroes will be officially over. But we're not going to go silent: we'll be releasing another update moments after the campaign ends, and we'll be sure to keep you updated as we make it through each of the checkpoints in the design, manufacturing and shipping process.
